Red Hot Chili Peppers By The Way (2-LP Vinyl)

Flea, Chad Smith, and the Kiedis-Frusciante songwriting partnership hit a melodic peak with this 2002 release, leaning hard into layered harmonies and orchestrated arrangements that drew as much from Brian Wilson as from the funk-rock foundation that made them famous. John Frusciante’s fingerprints are all over the record, his production instincts pushing the band toward something lusher and more introspective than the stadium-rattling *Californication* years.

(2-LP set) 2002 release.
